ABOUT OUR COMPANY
How we started
GCT Brands, a vibrant, driven company, passionate about sourcing, importing and the national distribution of fine tech brands and accessories. With progressive technology and gadgetry in our veins since 2006, our strategic alignment with great brands is clearly intentional, as our number one goal is to have happy customers enjoying the products we have so carefully investigated, researched and manufactured before selecting for import, and local distribution. We are proud to be representing such reputable and well recognised growing list of brands such as KF Concept, Tape-iT, Rokinon and Duracell.
Having established ourselves firmly in the South African market, you can find our products on every one of the country’s leading online and ecommerce marketplaces. GCT Brands (PTY) Ltd 2023/86459/07 is trading as TechBox and represents the brands K&F Concept South Africa, Rokinon, Duracell, 2-Power and Tape-iT.
RETURNS AND REFUNDS
Our No Fuss Policy
If you are unsatisfied with you purchase due to it being defective, damaged or realise you ordered the wrong item, we will accept the return on the following conditions:
- On all returns GCT Brands should be notified via email at sales@gctbrands.co.za within 7 days of you receiving your order, with an explanation of why you wish to return the goods.
- The goods are to be returned in their original undamaged packaging and in original condition.
- If goods are faulty or not working as originally intended due to manufacturing defects, GCT Brands will arrange, at our cost the collection of the faulty goods and the delivery of the new replacement items.
- If you receive in error a product not as per your order, we apologise for this. Kindly notify us via email and GCT Brands will rectify this at our expense. We will arrange for the courier to collect the item and to return the correct item at our cost.
- If you wish to return or exchange unwanted goods, or goods ordered in error, you may arrange the return or GCT Brands can arrange for collection via courier, however the costs will be for the purchasers account and shall be deducted from the refund if applicable.
- For returns via courier collections, please ensure that the product is in its original packaging, securely wrapped and placed in an appropriate sealed cardboard box. A copy of the original invoice should be placed in the box.
- Only once GCT Brands receives your returned parcel and it’s assessed and approved for replacement or a refund by our returns team, your account will be refunded or and exchange or replacement product will be despatched. This can take up to 10 business days.
- An admin and repacking fee may be incurred if goods or packaging are not returned in satisfactory condition.
WARRANTIES AND SUPPORT
For Your Peace of Mind
- All goods supplied come with the standard manufacturer’s warranty.
- If your purchase becomes faulty within the first 3 months, please contact us via email at sales@gctbrands.co.za and we shall arrange for the goods to be collected via courier at our expense, on condition the fault is a manufacturing warranty claim. If the goods are faulty due to misuse or negligence all cost shall be for the client’s account.
- If your purchase becomes faulty within the warranty period, you will need to arrange to get the product to GCT Brands for assessment, who also has the right to refer the returned goods to an authorized service centre or manufacturer who may then determine if a repair or replacement is in order.
- In the case of a faulty equipment and a warranty repair is not in order, a replacement model will be supplied. If the same model is not available a similar or better model will be supplied.
- You may log a repair request at sales@gctbrands.co.za for goods that are damaged due to misuse or out of warrant. We will advise you on the steps forward regarding your specific item. Goods to be sent back to GCT Brands at your own expense. We shall then send a repair quote which would need to be paid, in order for the repair to resume.
- As with all standard manufacturer warranty conditions, only defects in the manufacturing process apply and excludes faults or damage due to but not limited to – power surges, lightning, misuse or mishandling of the goods, normal wear and tear.

Getting your Order to You Faster
For our eCommerce Customers
- We offer free standard economy courier /shipping service, Monday to Friday, to all main centres for orders over R650.00.
- Standard economy shipping service takes 2-4 business days to all major cities.
- An additional fee may be charged for deliveries to rural and outlying areas. This fee is determined by the courier and not TechBox and will be corresponded to the purchaser in the case of extra charges.
- Deliveries must be within the borders of South Africa and to a registered physical address.
- We welcome orders from our neighbouring countries, however please contact us so we can arrange a delivery quote prior to your order. You may also arrange your own shipping. All duties, taxes, vat that may apply shall be for your account.
- For orders below R650.00 a fee shipping fee will be applied for a standard economy delivery to all major cities.
- Our preferred courier services offer parcel tracking, and for peace of mind you may at any stage track the progress of your shipment until it arrives safely at your door.
For our Registered Dealers
- For our registered dealers, we offer free delivery /standard economy courier, Monday to Friday, to all main centres for orders over R4000-00.
- Standard economy shipping service takes 2-4 business days to all major cities.
- An additional fee may be charged for deliveries to rural and outlying areas.
- Deliveries must be within the borders of South Africa and to a registered physical address.
- We welcome orders from our neighbouring countries; however you would need to arrange your own shipping. All duties, taxes, vat that may apply shall be for your account.
PAYMENT OPTIONS
Safe and Secure
For our eCommerce Cunstomers
- TechBox is registered with PayFast, where a variety of payment options are accepted including- Instant EFT, Credit cards (Visa and Mastercard) and Debit card payments.
- A normal EFT can be made directly into TechBox’s account however the payment needs to reflect in our account prior to collection or shipping of goods.
- We accept card payments in store. (except for American Express and Dinners Club)
- Refunds will be made via eft if a transfer is made or if a credit card payment is made, the refund will be made to that card.

For our registered dealers
- GCT Brands only accepts EFT/ Bank Transfer form of payment from registered dealers. We do not accept Credit and Debit cards payments.
- A normal EFT can be made directly into GCT Brands’ account however the payment needs to reflect in our account prior to collection or shipping of goods for COD customers.
- Refunds will be made via EFT to the registered account on record, if required, or may be left as a credit on your account.

- Audience
This policy applies to all visitors to our website and customers who have subscribed to all forms of services we offer (“you” and “your”).
- Purpose of this policy
We respect your privacy and take the POPIA (Protection of Personal Information Act) very seriously. The purpose of this policy is to describe the way we collect, store, use and protect information that can be associated with a specific natural or juristic person and can be used to identify that person (“personal information”). Personal information:
2.1 Includes
- certain information collected on registration (see below); and
- optional information that you voluntarily provide to us (see below).
2.2 Excludes
- information that has been made anonymous so that it does not identify a specific person.
- permanently de-identified information that does not relate or cannot be traced back to you specifically.
- non-personal statistical information collected and compiled by us and information that you have provided voluntarily in an open, public environment or forum including (without limitation) any blog, chat room, community, classifieds or discussion board. Because the information has been disclosed in a public forum, it is no longer confidential and does not constitute personal information subject to protection under this policy.
- Acceptance of terms
You must accept all the terms of this policy when you register for any of our services. If you do not agree with anything in this policy, then you may not register for and use any of the services. You may not access our website or use our services if you are younger than 18 years old or do not have legal capacity to conclude legally binding contracts. By accepting this policy, you are deemed to have read, understood, accepted, and agreed to be bound by all its terms.
- Changes
We may change the terms of this policy at any time. We will notify you of any changes by placing a notice in a prominent place on the website or by email. If you do not agree with the changes, you must stop using the services. If you continue to use the services following notification of a change to the terms, the changed terms will apply to you, and you will be deemed to have accepted such terms.
- Collection
5.1 On registration. Once you register on our Website or via our Application Form, you will no longer be anonymous to us as you will provide us with personal information.
This personal information could include:
- Name, surname, company name, company registration number, VAT number
- Postal address, email address, telephone number, postal code
- Unique user ID, password
5.2 Collection on use. In order to provide the Services to you, you will be asked to provide us with additional information on a voluntary basis such as (“Service information”).
5.3 Optional details. You may also provide additional information on a voluntary basis (“optional information”). This includes content or product that you decide to upload or download from our website or when you enter competitions, take advantage of promotions, respond to surveys, register and subscribe for certain additional services, or otherwise use the optional features and functionality of the website.
5.4 Collection from browser. We automatically receive and record Internet usage information on our hosting company’s server logs from your browser, such as your internet protocol address (“IP Address”), browsing habits, click patterns, version of software installed, system type, screen resolutions, colour capabilities, plug-ins, language settings, cookie preferences, search engine keywords, JavaScript enablement, the content and pages that you access on the website, and the dates and times that you visit the website, paths taken, and time spent on sites and pages within the website (“usage information”). Please note that other websites visited before entering our website might place personal information within your URL during a visit to it, and we have no control over such websites. Accordingly, a subsequent website that collects URL information may log some personal information.
5.5 Cookies. When you access our website, we may send one or more cookies (small text files containing a string of alphanumeric characters) to your computer to collect certain usage information. We use session cookies (which disappear after you close your browser) and persistent cookies (which remain after you close your browser which can be removed manually) and may be used by your browser on subsequent visits to our website. We use information gathered by cookies to improve the website.
5.6 Web beacons. Our website may contain electronic image requests (called a “single-pixel gif” or “web beacon” request) that allow us to count page views and to access cookies. Any electronic image viewed as part of a web page (including an ad banner) can act as a web beacon. Our web beacons do not collect, gather, monitor or share any of your personal information. We will obtain your consent to collect personal information:

7.1 Messages and updates. We may send administrative messages and email updates to you regarding the website. In some cases, we may also send you primarily promotional messages. You can choose to opt-out of promotional messages.

8.1 Sharing.
- We may share your personal information with an affiliate, in which case we will seek to require the affiliates to honour this privacy policy.
- Our service providers under contract who help with parts of our business operations (fraud prevention, bill collection, marketing, technology services). Our contracts dictate that these service providers only use your information in connection with the services they perform for us and not for their own benefit.
- Credit bureaus to report account information, as permitted by law.
- Banking partners as required by credit card association rules for inclusion on their list of terminated merchants (in the event that you utilise the Services to receive payments and you meet their criteria).
8.2 Regulators. If you contact us regarding your experience with using any of our products, we may disclose your personal information as required of by law or governmental audit.
8.3 Law enforcement. We may disclose personal information if required:

- to comply with any law
- to protect the safety of any individual or the general public

8.4 No selling. We will Not sell personal information. No personal information will be disclosed to anyone except as provided in this privacy policy.
8.5 Marketing purposes. We may disclose aggregate statistics (information about the customer population in general terms) about the personal information to advertisers or business partners.
8.6 Change of ownership. If we undergo a change in ownership, or a merger with, acquisition by, or sale of assets to, another entity, we may assign our rights to the personal information we process to a successor, purchaser, or separate entity. We will disclose the transfer on the website. If you are concerned about your personal information migrating to a new owner, you may request us to delete your personal information.
8.7 Employees. We may need to disclose personal information to our employees that require the personal information to do their jobs.
- Security of personal information
We protect your personal information using computer safeguards such as firewalls and data encryption to protect personal information, and we authorize access to personal information only for those employees who require it to fulfil their job responsibilities.
- Accurate and up to date
We will endeavour to keep the personal information we collect as accurate, complete and up to date as is necessary for the purposes mentioned in clause 5.7. From time to time we will request you to update your personal information. You are able to review or update any personal information that we hold on you by accessing your account online or by emailing us or phoning us. Please note that in order to better protect you and safeguard your personal information, we do take steps to verify your identity before granting you access to your account or making any corrections to your personal information.
- Retention of personal information
We will only retain your personal information for as long as it is necessary to fulfil the purposes mentioned in clause 5.7, unless:
- retention of the record is required or authorised by law; or
- you have consented to the retention of the record.
During the period of retention, we will continue to abide our non-disclosure obligations and will not share or sell your personal information.
- Transfers of personal information outside South Africa
We may transmit or transfer personal information outside South Africa to a foreign country. Personal information may be stored on servers located outside South Africa in a foreign country whose laws protecting personal information may not be as stringent as the laws in South Africa. You consent to us processing your personal information in a foreign country whose laws regarding processing of personal information may be less stringent.

You may choose to correct or update the personal information you have submitted to us, by clicking the menu in any of the pages on our website.
- Limitation
We are not responsible for, give no warranties, nor make any representations in respect of the privacy policies or practices of any third-party websites.
